This page covers the Aida classic dining room, a collection built on the work of artisans and carvers. It explains which current pieces keep that craft at the centre of a dining room: a table and chairs carved by hand in solid cherry, and a sideboard with solid wood doors and drawers.
Why hand carving matters in a dining room
Hand carving is where a classic dining room shows its craft, because the table and chairs are seen up close every day. Aida put artisans and carvers at the heart of every piece, and the current Gran Guardia range follows the same route. The Gran Guardia Dining Table 2007 by Francesco Pasi is carved entirely by hand by master craftsmen, in solid cherry, with gold leaf or silver leaf decoration. For a stone alternative, look at a marble dining table.
Chairs and a sideboard that match
The Gran Guardia Dining Chair 2009 by Francesco Pasi shares the hand carving and finishes of the table, and its seat takes fabric in category A, B or C. Against the wall, the Opera Shaped Sideboard by Francesco Pasi, with two flat doors, measures H 106 x W 170.5 x D 54 cm. Its doors and drawers are solid wood, 28 mm, under a 29 mm cherry top. Plain doors leave the carving to the table and chairs. More pieces sit among our premium home furniture.
Choosing a finish for carved cherry
The finish decides how strongly the carving reads. Pale finishes such as White lacquer with silver patina pick out the relief, while Luxury Cherry keeps the warm tone of the wood. Luxury Cream and Luxury Hazelnut add hand-painted details for a softer, decorated look.
