This page covers the Granguardia classic dining room, where hand painting and hand carving give each piece its value. The photographs below show Granguardia tables, a vetrine and Opera storage. The text explains how to choose a square table, chairs and a sideboard for a room in this style.
Hand painting and carving
Hand painting and hand carving are what make each Granguardia piece different from the next. The photographs show long and round Granguardia tables, a vetrine, a bookcase and Opera and New Deco chests. Today, the Gran Guardia Sideboard by Francesco Pasi, with two doors, keeps that craft: its carving is made entirely by hand in solid cherry, and it can have hand-painted details on a Luxury Cream or Luxury Hazelnut finish. It measures H 108 x W 171 x D 56 cm. For a round alternative, see a round dining room table.
A square table for a square room
A square extending table suits a square room, where a long rectangle would leave dead corners. The New Deco Hand-Carved Extending Table, Square, by Francesco Pasi has a solid cherry frame in cherry, lacquer or Luxury finish. Around it, the Opera Dining Chair 3012 by Francesco Pasi adds hand-finished carving and fabric in category A, B or C. Other seats sit among our italian dining room chairs.
Choosing the leaf and the finish
Pick the leaf first, then the base finish. The Gran Guardia Sideboard takes gold leaf or silver leaf, and its finishes include White lacquer with silver patina and Luxury Cherry as well as the hand-painted cream and hazelnut. The Opera chairs offer Luxury White, Cream, Hazelnut or Retro Walnut, or 100 Gloss Ebony, Ivory, Taupe or White, so a close tone is easy to find.
