This page covers contemporary dining rooms built from metal, stoneware, lacquer and glass. The photographs below show modern tables in marble, glass and crystal with upholstered chairs and sideboards. The text explains how to choose a table top, chairs and a glass-door cabinet from the current range.

Choosing a table top

The top decides how a modern table looks and how it wears. The Bomber Dining Table by Dall'Agnese offers a 40 mm particle-board top with a 30° sloping edge in matt lacquer, wood veneer or UP surface, or 6 mm stoneware on 8 mm glass. Its base is black metal. The photographs below show other modern tops in marble, glass and crystal, some on spider pedestal bases. For a round form, see a luxury round dining table.

Chairs with a two-tone back

The Supernova Dining Chair by Dall'Agnese can have its back covered in a different finish from the front, except in leather. Seat and back come in fabric, leather or simil leather on a black metal base, at H 78 x W 52.5 x D 54.5 cm. The covers are fixed. For softer seats, compare our luxury upholstered dining chairs.

A glass-door cabinet

The Ellipse Two-Door Glass Cabinet by Francesco Pasi measures H 180 x W 113 x D 50 cm, with glass doors and a 29 mm cherry top. Its structure is lacquered in 100 Gloss or matt Bianco, Avorio, Tortora, Grigio Milano or Noce Milano. A leather version clads the uprights and legs in leather. Glass doors show tableware and glasses while keeping dust off them.
